Storm Troopers Get One-Run Win at Youngstown
|
The San Antonio Storm Troopers picked up a win at Joey Naples Memorial Colloseum, knocking off the Youngstown Tune-Ups, 5-4. Starting pitcher Dennis Hale was an essential part of his team's success. John Welch finished to wrap up his 33rd save. With the win, San Antonio goes to 61-80, while the Tune-Ups fall to 81-63.
San Antonio left fielder Ricardo Morales went deep in the top of the seventh. His 2-run home run off Youngstown pitcher Sachi Kakuta put the Storm Troopers in front, 5-3. It was his 11th home run of the season.
"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Hale. "I think we're going to keep proving that."
