Tight Tilt Goes to Hackers, 4-3
|
The Cincinnati Snaps and Silicon Valley Hackers provided some drama at San Jose Municipal Stadium.
Silicon Valley beat Cincinnati at San Jose Municipal Stadium, eking out a 4-3 win. The win was due in large part to first baseman Kiyoji Matsumoto, who earned player of the game honors. Willie Fierro got the save, the 20th for him this season.
With the bases empty and no one out in the bottom of the fifth inning, center fielder Giichiro Dunn delivered big for the Hackers. Silicon Valley was trailing 3-2 when he belted a solo home run.
"Big team win," Matsumoto said later.
Silicon Valley is now 55-88, Cincinnati 66-77.
