Enforcers Topple Predators, 4-3
|
The Atlantic City Enforcers overcame a good performance by Topeka designated hitter Darrell Prince to knock off Topeka, 4-3, at Parliament Field. Prince was 2-3 with 2 doubles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Atlantic City reliever Gustavo Asconcio was the winner. His record is now 7-0. Andrés Hernández took the loss. The Enforcers improved to 62-80.
Had Jesus Chavez not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Chavez hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Enforcers.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Topeka manager Noriyori Shirai, "let me know."
