Late Rally Gets Win for Bulldogs
|
Frisco got a terrific game from center fielder Pablo Moreno. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Spokane, 7-5. Moreno was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Spokane reliever Craig Wyman picked up the win, upping his record to 6-2. Everton Mailes was saddled with the loss. The third-place Bulldogs improved to 71-70.
Late-game drama came in the bottom of the eighth inning. With one out and the bases loaded, Spokane catcher Oscar Mayes hit a run-scoring single, helping his team get the win.
"They played a better game than we did," said Frisco skipper Rafael Castillo.
