So Cal Bats Go Silent in 4-0 Loss
|
Bloomington right-hander Loeck Jurgens was sensational in shutting out the So Cal Republic, 4-0. In 8.2 innings, Jurgens surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 4. He allowed no runs. Bloomington, at 24-23, occupies 4th place in the Thurman Munson League Billy Martin Division.
The two teams provided some entertaining baseball for the Celestrial Fields at Hermann Park crowd. Regardless of the outcome, a good time was had by all.
"That's the key at this level, throwing strike one," said Jurgens. "Successful pitchers do it."
