Sandy Springs got a strong outing from Ryunosuke Chikafuji as the Spartans defeated the Boise Hawks, 4-2, at The Coliseum. Sandy Springs is 5th in the Bob Moose League Bruce Bochy Division with a record of 63-77.
The Sandy Springs triumph was a team effort. Not least among the contributors was Brent Nordstrom. In the bottom of the sixth, the Sandy Springs third baseman hit a run-scoring single. It staked his team to a 3-2 lead.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Sandy Springs manager António Chávez.
