The Silicon Valley Hackers defeated the Newark Jail Birds, 7-2, in Cory Lidle League action at Cobras Ballpark, with Silicon Valley shortstop Dan Weston named player of the game. The winner was Dino De Buono, who threw 82 pitches over 5.2 innings. The left-hander was charged with 2 runs on 4 hits. The Hackers saw their win-loss record go to 52-86. At the same time, the Jail Birds fell to 69-68.
Weston went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI for Silicon Valley. With the game tied in the top of the second inning, Weston had a clutch at-bat. That's when he grounded out, driving in 1 run to give the Hackers a 1-0 lead.
