The Long Island Ducks wasted an inspired, 6.2-inning effort from starter Braden Halladay, falling 2-1 to the Madison Beehive at Long Island Stadium. Jerry Kennedy earned the save, his 8th. Madison, at 47-92, sits in last place in the Bob Moose League Jim Leyland Division.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Beehive had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the top of the eighth, when shortstop Rafael Gómez hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Kenji Ito and made the score 2-1, Beehive. Gómez was 1-4.

"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Roger Fievet.
