The Storm Troopers had to overcome a good performance from New York pitcher Jérémy Thomas to claim a 3-2 win at Confucius Field. Thomas went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 earned run. San Antonio reliever En-guo Guan picked up the win to move to 4-3. Jeff Kent suffered the loss. Today's win puts San Antonio at 58-76, while New York falls to 65-71.
In the top of the 7th, catcher Santiago López gave San Antonio the lead when he hit a 2-run double. The Storm Troopers had been trailing 2-1, but the two-out double off New York pitcher Jeff Kent changed that -- and San Antonio went on to win.
When asked about his performance after the game, López said: "Like everyone else, I'm just doing my job."
