Losing Streak Continues for Hackers with 4-2 Loss to Jail Birds
|
Newark Jail Birds starter Aubrey Williamsen was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Silicon Valley Hackers, 4-2. The winning pitcher was Williamsen, now 2-1. He tossed 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 7. Ryan Wise finished to wrap up his 3rd save.
Rob Finch went 2-3 with a double for Newark. In the bottom of the sixth, with the teams deadlocked, 1-1, Finch delivered for the Jail Birds. His run-scoring sacrifice fly put Newark on top, 2-1.
"Everyone's kind of edgy right now," said losing manager Bob Miller, "but nothing a couple of wins wouldn't cure."
The losses continue to add up for Silicon Valley, which has now fallen 8 times in a row.
