Vincente Cerni pitched a gem to lead Marysville to a 4-1 victory over the Jacksonville Hellcats. Marysville is 74-64 and Jacksonville, with the loss, 58-79.

The Monarchs beat the Hellcats with some clutch hitting. The single by Orrin Martell in the bottom of the first is a good example. With two down, Martell gave his team the lead, 2-0, when he came through with the big hit.

"Vincente's tempo and rhythm were good," said Monarchs manager Jorge Magana. "He was the key to us winning."
