Thrilling Walk-Off Win for Snaps
|
It was pandemonium at The Studio after an exciting walk-off win.
The Rock River Rats wasted an impressive 8-inning effort from starter Tom Wilson, falling 2-1 to the Cincinnati Snaps at The Studio. Cincinnati reliever Joël Meyer was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Kevin Crosby took the loss for Rock River.
With a runner on 2nd in the bottom of the tenth, Iván Pérez delivered the knockout blow when he hit a walk-off run-scoring single to win it for Cincinnati. In the contest, Pérez was 1 for 3 with a walk.
"We scored one run," said Rock River manager Hervé Barthélémy. "You're not gonna get a lot of Ws scoring just one run."
The Snaps, at 63-73, sit in 4th place in the Bob Moose League Jim Leyland Division.
