The New York Ninjas powered past the Wichita Wolverines, 8-5, at Confucius Field. Armando Espinoza was 4 for 4 with 2 doubles, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs, to lead the charge. The Ninjas raised their record to 64-69.

Jim Poole was 1-5. He drove in 2 runs for New York. With two out and the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, Poole had a clutch at-bat. Facing Wichita hurler Víctor Flores, he hit a run-scoring single to give the Ninjas a 6-5 lead.

"I'm proud to be a part of what we've got going on here," Poole told the New York Herald. "It's a great group and we're happy with the win."
