Loss to Lights Extends Silicon Valley Losing Streak
|
The Phoenix Lights went home winners at San Jose Municipal Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Fahad Munir. Munir silenced the Silicon Valley Hackers, enabling Phoenix to grab the 5-0 win. In 7 innings, Munir surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. The slumping Hackers have dropped 6 in a row.
The Lights got a big at-bat from left fielder Lou Charmelle. For the game, Charmelle went 1-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the fourth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 4th double of the season gave Phoenix a 2-0 lead.
"We've hit a rough patch right now," said Silicon Valley skipper Bob Miller.
