Sandy Springs withstood an impressive performance by Cincinnati second baseman Cecil Dell to defeat the Snaps, 11-8, at The Coliseum. Dell went 3 for 5 with a home run, a triple, and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Sandy Springs reliever Shan Huo picked up the win, upping his record to 4-2. Keith Smith absorbed the loss. Cincinnati's current losing streak has reached 4 games.

Shoji Hosokawa said the idea of hitting a home run barely crossed his mind when he came to bat in the bottom of the 11th. Hosokawa belted a 3-run home run to stake Sandy Springs to a 11-8 lead. His 2nd home run of the season came off Cincinnati pitcher Keith Smith.

"We didn't go down without a fight," said Cincinnati manager António Álvarez.
