Hellcats Topple Shamrocks, 5-2
|
Hellcats catcher Kiyohira Fukushima put his stamp on his team's 5-2 win over the Pacifica Shamrocks. Fukushima was 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times for Jacksonville in the contest. Getting the save was Noriaki Ine, his 5th. Today's win puts Jacksonville at 57-77, while Pacifica falls to 82-51.
With two out in the bottom of the fifth, Pancho Benavidez stroked a go-ahead 2-run triple. It was his 2nd triple of the season and put Jacksonville in front, 4-2.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Jacksonville manager Pete Dellow.
