Late Rally Gets Win for Storm Troopers
|
The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements at The Clone Army enjoyed themselves.
San Antonio Storm Troopers starter Dennis Hale turned in a sterling performance against the Long Island Ducks, leading his team to a slim 3-2 win. John Welch earned the save for San Antonio, his 31st of the year.
San Antonio took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With two out, third baseman Ron Wheaton hit a solo home run that fired up the crowd.
Wheaton attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
The Storm Troopers improved to 56-73.
