Grays Come Back Late, Nip Hops
|
The Georgia Grays picked up a win at The Death Star, knocking off the San Diego Hops, 4-3. Starting pitcher José Berrios, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Georgia reliever Bernalldo Rocchi was the winner. His record is now 4-5. Phil Kettenring took the loss. With the win, the Grays improved to 17-30.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Georgia trailing 3-2, Masamune Tanaka hit a fastball from Phil Kettenring to left for a 2-run home run. Just like that, the Grays had a walk-off win.
"We need to get rid of the bad mojo," said Tanaka. "Maybe this win will help."
