Red Bulls Pick Up 7-3 Win
|
The Riverside Red Bulls beat the Madison Beehive, 7-3, at Red Bull Stadium. The Red Bulls got a fine performance from second baseman Bill Kehoe, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Daryl Walder, who went 6 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 6 hits, while walking 5 and striking out 5. His record now stands at 8-5. Lien-ying Mar earned the save for Riverside, his 19th of the year.
One pivotal at-bat came with one out in the top of the eighth. With the bases loaded and Madison trailing 7-3, Iván Cabrera needed to bear down against Ian Wechter. Cabrera won the battle, as Wechter lined out and the Red Bulls went on to win.
The first-place Red Bulls, at 75-56, now lead their division by 4˝ games.
