Cornhuskers Fall to Iijima, Beetlecats
The Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats did just enough to secure a 8-7 victory over the DeKalb Cornhuskers at The Corn Crib. Nobody did more than first baseman Satoshi Iijima, who captured player of the game honors. The 5th-place Beetlecats raised their record to 58-69.

Yasuhiro Nishimura contributed a productive at-bat in the top of the seventh. With the bases loaded, he hit a run-scoring single. It was one at-bat that helped Buzzard's Bay get the win.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said DeKalb manager Eduardo Varerla. "But we decided not to take it."
