The San Antonio Storm Troopers beat the Silicon Valley Hackers, 6-5 at The Clone Army, in part due to left fielder Kuniyasu Sato, who nabbed player of the game honors. He went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. Ernie Henderson earned the win to go to 3-6. He allowed 5 earned runs on 8 hits, with 3 walks and 2 strikeouts. John Welch recorded the save for San Antonio, his 29th of the season.
In the bottom of the second, Francisco González hit a 2-run single for San Antonio. The 43rd hit of the season for the San Antonio third baseman put the Storm Troopers on top, 3-1.
"I just love going out and having a big game," Sato said when asked about being named player of the game. "It's an honor to have your talents recognized."
Today's win puts San Antonio at 54-70, while Silicon Valley falls to 50-78.
