The Beehive faced a stiff challenge from Atlantic City pitcher Yong-kook Chong, but persevered to claim a win at The Hive. The final score was 5-2. Chong went 5.1 innings and allowed 1 earned run. The winner was Thurman Snider in relief. His record improves to 3-4. Jim Fisher took the loss. The save was credited to Jerry Kennedy, his 7th.

Scott Crawford contributed to the Beehive cause with a productive at-bat in the bottom of the seventh inning. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a run-scoring single, giving Madison the lead.

"We'll enjoy this win for now, but it's just one," Crawford told local reporters. "We've got to keep it going."

Madison is now 45-84, while Atlantic City is 56-72.
