The Rock River Rats topped the Long Island Ducks, 11-7, with youngster Andy Grimley playing a key role. Grimley was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Rats in the win. Kevin Crosby earned the save for Rock River, his 26th of the year. The first-place Rats have won 5 straight.

Grimley turned the game around in the bottom of the seventh. Facing David Tankersley, the Rock River catcher rapped a 2-run double. Suddenly, the 6-5 Rock River deficit turned into a 7-6 lead.
