Ninjas Hang 4-1 Loss on Spartans
|
A nice crowd turned out to see the New York Ninjas and Sandy Springs Spartans clash at Confucius Field.
New York starter Masaharu Aoki put a stranglehold on the Sandy Springs offense. The right-hander had complete command of his curveball in leading the Ninjas to a 4-1 win. The winning pitcher was Aoki, now 9-6. He tossed 5 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 8.
Yoshiro Allen had a productive trip to the plate with one out in the bottom of the third inning. With the bases loaded, he grounded out, driving in 1 run, helping New York to the win.
Aoki said afterward that he was glad to contribute to the win.
New York is now 59-65, Sandy Springs 58-68.
