Shamrocks Come Up Short at Buzzard's Bay
|
The Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats did just enough to sneak past the Pacifica Shamrocks, 6-5, at Bloomfield Road. Buzzard's Bay designated hitter Juan Sánchez earned player of the game honors. Buzzard's Bay reliever António Fabián was the winner. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Jimmy Hunter. Daizo Hirai closed the game out for Buzzard's Bay, earning his 3rd save.
Buzzard's Bay grabbed a 6-4 lead in the bottom of the sixth when Toshikasu Okuda hit a 2-run single. For the day, Okuda went 1-4 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs.
"The most important thing is that we won," Okuda said.
