The DeKalb Cornhuskers buried the Spokane Bulldogs, 12-1, under a barrage of hits. Bailey Povey led the onslaught, going 3-for-4 for DeKalb. The save was credited to Enrico Avalos, his 1st. The second-place Cornhuskers are now 70-56, the Bulldogs 63-62.

An important at-bat for DeKalb came with one out in the top of the third. With a runner on 1st, Povey hit a 2-run home run, which contributed to the Cornhuskers win.

"They took us to the woodshed," said Spokane manager Chris Carpenter.
