Bulldogs Topple Cornhuskers as Cortéz Shines
The Spokane Bulldogs stymied the DeKalb Cornhuskers, 7-2, at The Kennel. Raúl Cortéz, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He belted 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4 for Spokane. Spokane starter António Días was credited with the win after throwing 103 pitches over 6.2 innings. His record now stands at 5-7. Spokane, at 63-61, occupies third place in the Bob Moose League Bruce Bochy Division.

The game turned with one out in the bottom of the fourth when Cortéz hit a 2-run home run. It propelled the Bulldogs into the lead, 4-2.

"I thought we played a nice game," Cortéz told the Spokane Times. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
