In a tight contest at The Rat Hole, the Rock River Rats edged the Long Island Ducks by the score of 9-8. Rock River shortstop Josh Kelly, who blasted 1 home run, was named the player of the game. The win was credited to Colby Virella in relief. His record improves to 5-0. Parker Davis took the loss. Kevin Crosby earned the save, his 24th.

Tucker Slade had a nice at-bat for the Rats with two out in the bottom of the fifth. With the bases loaded, the right fielder hit a 2-run single, which would prove important in the Rock River win.

"Nervous? No," said Slade. "It was my time to shine."

Rock River is now 81-42, 12½ games up in the Bob Moose League Bruce Bochy Division.
