Shamrocks Top Lights, 6-2
|
The Pacifica Shamrocks beat the Phoenix Lights, 6-2, at McCormick Field. The win was largely due to the efforts of first baseman Josh Bowmer, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI. Subaru Suzuki, the winner, improved to 2-2. He held the Lights to 2 earned runs on 5 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 2. Pacifica has now won 3 in a row.
One significant plate appearance for Pacifica came with two out in the bottom of the sixth inning. Shamrocks designated hitter Dan Thibodeau hit a run-scoring single, which helped Pacifica go on to win.
"Anytime we get it going, it puts a smile on my face," said Bowmer.
