Bombers Lose to Pioneers, 3-1
|
Kenko Samurakami never let South Carolina get something going. The Vancouver right-hander commanded his slider in pitching the Pioneers to a 3-1 win. Samurakami, now 3-5, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 4, walking 3, and allowing 1 earned run. Vancouver is 26-18 and South Carolina, with the loss, 27-16.
Dan Rollins helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run double to give Vancouver a 2-0 lead.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said South Carolina skipper Randy Huggett, "and it cost us."
