Predators Pick Up 9-3 Win
|
Behind a solid performance from designated hitter Dave Watson, the Topeka Predators defeated the Madison Beehive, 9-3. Watson was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Predators. Topeka reliever Roberto Duran picked up the win to move to 2-5. Pete Herrington suffered the loss. Topeka, at 60-63, sits in third place in the Bob Moose League Jim Leyland Division.
The fans who came in support of the Predators were pleased with the outcome. It was what they had hoped for when they passed through the turnstiles at The Field at Richmond.
"We take it day by day here," said Watson, "and today was a good one for us."
