Beetlecats Come Back Late, Nip Jail Birds
In a close game at Cobras Ballpark, the Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats edged the Newark Jail Birds, 4-3. Buzzard's Bay right fielder Toshikasu Okuda earned the nod as player of the game. He went 4-4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The save was credited to Takashi Toru, his 11th. The Beetlecats move to 53-65 with the win, while the Jail Birds drop to 59-62.

The most crucial at-bat for Buzzard's Bay came in the top of the ninth inning. That's when Okuda stroked a first pitch fastball to left for a run-scoring double, putting Buzzard's Bay up, 4-3.

After the game, Buzzard's Bay manager Keith Irwin applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
