Long Island rode a fine outing from starter Sébastien Duval to victory over the Sandy Springs Spartans at Long Island Stadium. The final score was 6-2. Picking up the save was Yasukazu Kouda, his 2nd.

Dave Thorpe's at-bat in the bottom of the first was significant, coming with the bases loaded and the game tied, 0-0. The Long Island catcher hit a bases-clearing double off Tony Mejía to put the Ducks up.
