Wolverines Get 3-1 Win Versus Carson City
Wichita got a first-rate effort from pitcher Charlie Haydon, who frustrated Carson City hitters en route to a 3-1 Wolverines triumph at Cowboys Stadium. Haydon, now 9-2, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 9, walking 0, and allowing 1 earned run. Getting the save was Pedro Galló, his 31st.

Lane Renouf put Wichita in front, 3-1, when he hit a solo home run off Tony Gutiérrez in the top of the seventh. It was his 4th home run of the season.

"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Wichita manager Dave Moran.

Their 61-59 record puts the Wolverines second in the Bob Moose League Jim Leyland Division.
