Hawks Win Thriller, 3-2

Boise overcame a superlative game from Jiro Watanabe to beat Riverside, 3-2. The Riverside pitcher took player of the game honors in a losing cause. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball. The winner was Boise reliever James Woodard, now 2-7. The loser was Lien-ying Mar. Boise now owns a record of 58-59.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Boise center fielder Pete Freeman, facing Lien-ying Mar, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Hawks the 3-2 win.
Freeman said afterward that he was "glad the fans were treated to a good ballgame."
