In a low-scoring tilt between the Pacifica Shamrocks and the Newark Jail Birds, Subaru Suzuki was the difference-maker. The Pacifica left-hander earned player of the game honors in the 3-2 win. Reliever Danny Posada picked up the win. His record improves to 1-1. Leonardo Bazaidua took the loss. Jamie Newitt was called on to finish, recording his 13th save.

Had Eigo Matsuo not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Matsuo hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Shamrocks.

"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Newark skipper Johan Gillberry.

Pacifica leads the Cory Lidle League Gene Mauch Division by 7˝ games.
