Rats Get Win, Extend Streak to 4
|
New York got a terrific game from second baseman Chua chay Ang. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Rock River, 7-5. Ang was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Adam Lewis, who threw 97 pitches over 5 innings. The left-hander was charged with 3 runs on 8 hits. Kevin Crosby earned the save for Rock River, his 23rd of the year.
Lee Brooks had a productive trip to the plate with two out in the bottom of the fifth inning. With the bases loaded, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run, helping Rock River to the win.
"There were things that we could've improved upon," said Rats manager Hervé Barthélémy, "but all in all, I'm satisfied with our performance."
New York has now lost 4 consecutive games.
