The DeKalb Cornhuskers picked up a win at The Corn Crib, knocking off the Long Island Ducks, 4-3. On the mound for DeKalb was right-hander Morihiro Hashimoto, who played a pivotal role in the win. The winning streak has now reached 7 games for the Cornhuskers.

Noriaki Kobayashi said the idea of hitting a home run barely crossed his mind when he came to bat in the bottom of the ninth. Kobayashi belted a solo home run to stake DeKalb to a 4-3 lead. His 3rd home run of the season came off Long Island pitcher David Tankersley.

"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Hashimoto.
