Red Bulls Best Tune-Ups in Pitching Duel

Both teams had their chances, but the Riverside Red Bulls eventually prevailed at Red Bull Stadium.
Jay Coxford could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Youngstown Tune-Ups lost, dropping a 2-1 decision to the Riverside Red Bulls at Red Bull Stadium. Reliever Maite Tadeo picked up the win. His record improves to 3-2. Jay Coxford took the loss.
Héctor Lara drove in one run for Riverside. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the sixth inning, Lara, who is rated as the 3rd best prospect by BNN, had a clutch at-bat. Facing Youngstown hurler Jay Coxford, he reached on an error by the 2B, driving in 1 run to give the Red Bulls a 2-1 lead.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Riverside manager Tim Duncan.
Riverside now sits in first place in the Cory Lidle League Lou Piniella League at 69-45.
