Big Day by Gibson Ignites Monarchs Win
A 3-RBI performance from designated hitter Billy Gibson, who is tied for 9th in the ACL in bases on balls with 71, led the Marysville Monarchs to a 4-3 win over the Pacifica Shamrocks. Bing-de Ku, credited with the win, is now 2-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings. Brian Reddin notched his 1st save in 1 chances.

In a game filled with surprises, perhaps none was as big as Gibson's contribution. The Marysville designated hitter is a relative newcomer. With two out in the bottom of the eighth, when the Monarchs had a runner on 2nd, Gibson delivered a crucial 2-run home run.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Pacifica manager Joe Leftwich. "But we decided not to take it."

The Monarchs now have a record of 65-52.
