The Madison Beehive did just enough to sneak past the Wichita Wolverines, 6-5, at Howling Park. Madison pitcher Nick Copeland earned player of the game honors. Jerry Kennedy got the save, his 4th in 5 chances. Even with the win, the Beehive have a dismal 40-75 record.

The Beehive beat the Wolverines with some clutch hitting. The home run by Scott Crawford in the top of the fourth is a good example. With two down, Crawford gave his team the lead, 6-2, when he came through with the big hit.

"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Copeland said.
