The Youngstown Tune-Ups beat the Riverside Red Bulls, 6-5 at Red Bull Stadium, in part due to right fielder William Banks, who nabbed player of the game honors. He belted 2 home runs. Bruce Easton, the winner, improved to 7-9. He held the Red Bulls to 4 earned runs on 4 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 3. Earning his 36th save for Youngstown was Koshiro Ohayashi.
Had Banks not come through in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have changed. Instead, with two down, Banks hit a solo home run. The Tune-Ups never looked back after taking the 5-4 lead.
"This win gets us that much closer to where we want to be," Banks said in postgame remarks.
With the win, the Tune-Ups improved to 64-49.
