Shamrocks Get One-Run Win at Marysville
|
Pacifica right-hander Jimmy Hunter helped his team edge Marysville by the score of 3-2. Hunter kept the opposing lineup in check. In 7 innings, Hunter surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 0. He allowed 2 runs. Bernard Coste earned his 6th save in 7 tries.
Dave Bayliss, not known for his power, had a big at-bat with no one out in the top of the seventh. That's when he connected on a cutter from Jorge Guerrero for a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season put Pacifica in front, 3-1.
"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Hunter said.
Pacifica has now won 3 in a row.
