The Long Island Ducks picked up a win at Long Island Stadium, knocking off the Cincinnati Snaps, 3-1. Starting pitcher Stuart Organ, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Miguel Hernández converted his 15th save in 18 tries. Long Island is now 49-61.
Long Island took the lead with one out in the bottom of the first when Ken Cashmann stroked a 3-run home run. That made the score 3-0 in favor of Long Island. For the day, Cashmann went 1 for 2 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"We didn't string enough hits together to win the game," said tight-lipped Cincinnati manager António Álvarez. "Obviously."
