Wichita third baseman Stewart Gee was instrumental in his team's 7-4 win over the Sandy Springs Spartans. Gee, who is tied for 5th in the FFL in extra base hits with 45, went 3-4 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Wolverines. Pedro Galló earned his 28th save in 32 chances. With the win, Wichita has a record of 56-54. Sandy Springs falls to 53-55.

New York-born Shane Gross came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases loaded and the Wolverines trailing 4-2, he hit a bases-clearing double to center to put Wichita on top.

"It was a solid team effort," said Gee after the game.
