Wolverines Fall Short at Spokane
Willis Pierce had a good game, but he could not keep the Wichita Wolverines from falling, 6-5, to the Spokane Bulldogs at The Kennel. The Wichita first baseman went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles in the loss. Spokane reliever Craig Wyman picked up the win, upping his record to 5-2. Pedro Galló absorbed the loss. With the win, Spokane has a record of 54-53. Wichita falls to 55-53.

Luis Reyes was the walk-off hero for Spokane. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Bulldogs center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring triple to send the teams home.

"This place was rocking at the end," Reyes said.
