In a low-scoring affair between the Carson City Mustang and the Long Island Ducks, pitcher Phil Parker was the difference between victory and defeat. The Carson City right-hander earned player of the game honors in the 3-2 Mustang win. The win was Shohei Nakayama's in relief. His record improves to 3-3. Naoki Okada took the loss for Long Island. The save was credited to Yoshimochi Chikuda, his 2nd.
Parker's nice game included a clutch 2-run home run in the bottom of the second.
"We're scuffling right now," said losing manager Roger Fievet.
