Sandy Springs shortstop Brent Nordstrom made his presence felt in the 5-3 Spartans triumph over the Madison Beehive. Nordstrom went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Juan Yarrito, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. Tom Polk closed it out for his 16th save.
Pancho Figueroa had a productive trip to the plate with two out in the top of the sixth inning. With the bases loaded, he hit a 2-run single, helping Sandy Springs to the win.
