Beetlecats Sneak Past Red Bulls, 7-6
|
A 3-RBI performance from Toshikasu Okuda helped the Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats beat the Riverside Red Bulls, 7-6. Buzzard's Bay reliever Mike Salter was credited with the win, to go to 3-4. Maite Tadeo took the loss for Riverside. With the victory, the Beetlecats record now stands at 44-58.
Okuda had a game-changing single in the top of the eighth. On a full count knuckleball from Maite Tadeo, he banged a run-scoring single to right, giving the Beetlecats a 6-5 lead. It was the 66th hit of the year for Okuda.
"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said Okuda.
