Well, that's how to end a game in style.

The Wichita Wolverines did just enough to sneak past the Rock River Rats, 5-4, at Howling Park. Wichita first baseman Willis Pierce earned player of the game honors. Pedro Galló picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 4-1. George Fortin Jr. was tagged with the loss.

Shane Gross was the walk-off hero for Wichita. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Wolverines designated hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"When I'm in the lineup, I always feel like we're going to win the game," said Gross.

With the win, Wichita goes to 55-51, while the Rats fall to 68-36.
